Virginia Gay Hospital is a community based not-for-profit hospital serving the residents of Benton County. The Hospital receives no tax generated money, with the exceptionof service-generated income, and must rely on it ability to produce revenue through the wide range of quality services provided and the philanthropic support of our community.
In 1993, I was among a large group of individuals who dedicated their time and resources to raise $1.25 million needed to fund vital improvements for the Hospital and the Nursing and Rehab Center, then called the Annex. The campaign was successful because of the response of the residents of our area and their understanding of the needs to be addressed.
Since that time, the Virginia Gay Hospital Healthcare Foundation has raised a significant number of dollars in support of the continuing improvements and additonal services the Hospital provides. Members of the Foundation Board of Directors serve in a volunteer capacity, giving of their time, talents and resources. The real compensation for each of us is the opportunity to be a part of the ongoing program supporting the Hospital's mission.
Over the intervening years the financial support shown has allowed the Foundation to have a positive impact on the hospital-based healthcare avaiable to our community. All of us associated with the Board of Directors offer our heart-felt thanks to each of you.
Sincerely,
Keith Mossman

MURPHY MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNEMENT
Each year the Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament is held in remembrance of members of the Murphy family, and others, to raise funds which in turn benefit area charities. For many years the VGH Healthcare Foundation has been one of the recipient organizations. The Foundation provides assistance to the Tournament in a number of ways on the day of the event as well as procuring raffle prizes from the community.
ESTATE PLANNING
The Foundation program of Wills, Trusts and Bequests seeks to provide information concerning opportunities for individuals and families to make Virginia Gay Hospital a part of their estate planning process.
Information concerning which Estate Plan instrument is best suited to your needs is available on request. This information may also to be shared with any professional(s) assisting you with your Estate Plan.
Approaches include a variety of options from simple bequests through establishing a Charitable Remainder Unit Trust or Charitable Annuity Trust. Many of these instruments not only benefit the community but may also have significant financially positive implications for the donor.
MEMORIAL AND HONORARIUM GIVING
The next time you are faced with searching for a way to help express your feelings, consider an honorary or memorial gift that will be recognized and appreciated by others for years to come. A gift to the VGH Healthcare Foundation can be a fitting, personal way to honor the memory or successes of a loved one, or mark other milestones in life.
When the tribute is in memory of someone dear, the Foundation will notify the family of your kind act, but will not disclose the amount of your donation.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED PROGRAMS
The success of the Foundation’s Fund raising programs has resulted in the purchase of additional equipment outside the Hospital’s budget. During the past three years examples include a Call Light System for Nursing Rehab, a Woods Lamp, Cryo Gun, Wheel Chair, Pediatric Oxygen Sensor, Endoscopic Surgical Equipment, Diabetes Education Hardware and Software, Privacy Curtains and Window Blinds for Nursing Rehab, Veinlites with Large Ring Illuminators for both the Nursing/Emergency Departments and the Laboratory.
Given the technical nature of these purchases it is difficult to understand the impact of the Foundation’s contributions to the Hospital. We do know that these are items used on a regular basis in the process of diagnosing and treating the wide assortment of illnesses and injuries brought to the Hospital by the community.
